Hi!
Welcome to IAM(Aneta Mandarino)Learning!
My name is Aneta.
Nice to meet you!
I am based in Southern California. Let's connect!

My daily motto is ''Carpe Diem''! Every day I fill my day with gratitude, joy and creativity, sunshine and long walks with my dogs, teaching and learning experiences, and helping people grow.

My Story
''Be so good, they can't ignore you!'' - Steve Martin
I was a born and raised artist from the vibrant city of Bialystok, Poland, immersing myself in the rich tapestry of languages and cultures. After earning my Master of Arts in Russian and English Philology, I took a leap of faith in 2007 and embarked on a life-changing journey to California, where dreams are made.

My journey has been an exhilarating blend of teaching foreign languages to students of all ages and crafting transformative corporate training experiences in the hospitality and supply chain industries. Over the past 22 years, I've ignited sparks of inspiration in both leaders and learners, whether facilitating immersive group sessions or tailoring bespoke training programs in person or virtually. But my story doesn't end there.

In 2020, I delved into the captivating realm of instructional design and development, crafting dynamic learning experiences that transcend boundaries. I've honed my craft through rigorous training, earning certifications in Articulate 360 & Rise and completing an Instructional Design and Development certificate with Oregon State University.

Fueled by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, I embarked on a new odyssey, pursuing a Master of Science in Learning Design & Technology with the esteemed University of San Diego.
I DREAM BIG. My goal is to ascend to the pinnacle of the learning and development realm as a Global VP of Training, Learning and Development, guiding others on their own transformative educational journeys.

In my world, education isn't just about imparting knowledge; it's about unlocking doors of opportunity and empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
Join me on this electrifying adventure, where we are all limitless individuals and can design, build, and live your dream life.

Design Philosophy
My enthusiasm for learning new things has always fueled my curiosity and excitement. I thrive on communicating and collaborating with others, and my deep passion for teaching and learning has driven me to immerse myself in linguistics, pedagogy, education, and instructional design technologies.

Throughout my professional journey in the US, I have worked in the hospitality and supply chain industries, empowering hospitality leaders to master supply chain best practices and optimize their purchasing strategies.
My recent educational pursuits with the University of San Diego and Oregon State University, where I have been studying online, have transformed me into a more efficient and self-directed learner. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to succeed and have allowed me to apply my knowledge creatively in my professional projects.

All these experiences have profoundly shaped my approach to instructional design. As a corporate trainer in the supply chain and hospitality industry, a foreign languages teacher, and an instructional designer, I am passionate about creating a structured yet flexible learning framework. I integrate various principles and models to ensure the learning experience is effective, engaging, and tailored to the unique needs of each learner.

Here are some of the key instructional design theories and models I passionately employ to create transformative learning experiences:
Accessibility: I am dedicated to ensuring that all learners, regardless of their abilities, can fully engage and participate in my courses.

Backward Design: I start with the end in mind, identifying the desired outcomes first. I then determine how to assess learners' understanding and skills, and finally, design activities and instructions that will achieve these outcomes.

ADDIE Model: This comprehensive framework guides my development of training materials. It begins with Analysis, followed by Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, ensuring a robust and effective learning experience.

Bloom’s Taxonomy: I use this model to categorize educational goals into levels of complexity and specificity: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation, allowing me to tailor instruction to different learning stages.

Cognitive Load Theory: I focus on optimizing cognitive load to enhance understanding and retention. This involves balancing intrinsic load (the material being learned), minimizing extraneous load (distractions), and maximizing germane load (resources dedicated to processing and understanding the material).

Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of Evaluation: This model provides a systematic approach to evaluating training outcomes at four levels:
-
Reaction: Measure participants' immediate reactions to the training.
-
Learning: Assess the increase in knowledge or skills.
-
Behavior: Determine the extent to which participants apply their new knowledge or skills on the job.
-
Results: Measure the impact of the training on organizational outcomes.

Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction: I follow these nine events to create engaging and effective instructional experiences:
-
Gain the learner’s attention.
-
Inform learners of the objectives.
-
Stimulate recall of prior learning.
-
Present the content.
-
Provide guidance.
-
Allow for practice.
-
Offer constructive feedback.
-
Assess performance.
-
Enhance retention and transfer.

By integrating these theories and models, I strive to design instructional materials and experiences that are not only effective and engaging but also deeply impactful for all learners.
